Sewing
Sew pattern segments together to weld them in the 3D viewport during simulation.
📌Note: Each connection is paired 1:1, forming a set of two sewing lines.
Create
Segment Sewing
Select the tool button below:
2D Editor > Toolbar > Segment Sewing Tool
Click on a segment of a pattern/internal shape to create the first sewing line.
Click on a segment of another pattern/internal shape to create the second sewing line, completing the pair.
📌Note: Press the Esc key during creation to cancel the operation. 📦Added in 2025 v 2.1
Set Notch Direction:
Before clicking a segment, move the mouse cursor along the ends of the segment.
The notch, indicated by a crosshair, follows the cursor.
Click to create a sewing line when the notch is in the desired direction.
In the second segment, whether the notch directions are parallel or crossing affects how the fabric is sewn in the 3D viewport.
Parallel: Commonly used for regular stitching.
Crossing: Used for folded elements like pleats.
Free Sewing 📦Added in 2025 v 2.2
Select the tool button below:
2D Editor > Toolbar > Free Sewing Tool
Click on a point on the pattern segment where the sewing will start.
📌Note: In the case of Free Sewing, you can start from the center of the segment.
Move the mouse along the segment and click the segment again.
→ The first seam of the sewing pair is created.Click the start and end points on the other pattern to connect the first seam.
→ The second seam of the sewing pair is completed.📌Note:
Press Esc before completing the sewing pair to cancel the entire sewing process.
Press Ctrl+Z during sewing to cancel the current seam creation.
Press Del during sewing to remove the last clicked point.
Move

Click and drag a line
→ The sewing line moves without changing its length.
Adjust Length

2D Editor > Toolbar > Free Sewing Tool
Click and drag a point
→ The point moves, and the sewing line length is adjusted.
Delete
Select the of the tools below:
2D Editor > Toolbar > Segment Sewing Tool
2D Editor > Toolbar > Free Sewing Tool
Perform one of the following actions:
Right-click on a sewing line and select Delete from the pop-up menu.
Alternatively, click the sewing line to select it, then press Del or Backspace on your keyboard.
